VentureBeat has hired Rob Strechay as its first Lead Analyst and founding member of VentureBeat Research. Strechay comes from theCUBE Research and SiliconANGLE, where he served as managing director and principal analyst. Before that: executive roles at Zerto, Amazon Web Services, and Enterprise Strategy Group. Nearly three decades across practitioner, product, and analyst seats. His coverage mandate is specific: cloud infrastructure, advanced data infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps observability, and the collision points between agentic AI and enterprise security.
Strechay is already publishing. In May he released an analysis of enterprise GPU utilization, quantifying the compute waste inside AI infrastructure budgets. He also stress-tested VentureBeat's AI Infrastructure and Compute survey before it launched. That survey work connects to VentureBeat's monthly VB Pulse series, which tracks five domains: agentic orchestration, agent reliability and evals, agentic security and identity, AI infrastructure and compute, and context layers including RAG.
