Angus of Maker's Muse combined parametric print-in-place sliding puzzles with a desktop UV flatbed printer to produce full-color, tactile puzzle surfaces. The puzzles scale from 3x3 to 11x11 tiles, all printed on a Prusa XL.

Tolerance is the core engineering problem here. Pieces too tight won't slide. Pieces too loose bind or pop apart. Mating surface geometry is further constrained by what FDM prints reliably without supports. The color layer adds another failure mode: thick UV ink deposits overspray into tile gaps and locks the puzzle up. The fix is masking the print job to avoid inking over those gaps, a non-obvious step that the video documents in detail.
