Evan Monsma machined a solid brass dual-lens mount directly onto an iPhone, replacing two of the three native camera lenses with C-mount and EF-mount adapters while leaving the third camera untouched.
The previous version used cyanoacrylate to bond a single C-mount lens and failed. This iteration uses epoxy, includes 3D-printed protective covers, and has a tripod thread machined into the base. Mounting EF lenses produces an extremely long effective focal length given the small sensor size, a tradeoff the build does not try to hide.
The full video shows real shooting comparisons across lens types, and the original failed attempt is also on YouTube for context. One unresolved issue: no IR filter, which means a visible pink cast in images. Read this one to understand the mechanical decisions behind a custom brass mount on a consumer phone.
