Samsung Display paid for this video. That is the first thing you need to know before reading further. Unbox Therapy tested four QD-OLED monitors using Samsung Display's Penta Tandem technology, running content from retro Sega titles to current releases.

Penta Tandem OLED stacks five emissive layers instead of the typical one or two, targeting higher peak brightness without sacrificing the black levels OLED is known for. QD-OLED adds quantum dot color conversion on top of that. The combination is what Samsung Display is positioning against traditional WOLED and mini-LED panels in the high-end monitor market.

The video itself is light on specs and heavy on footage, which makes it worth watching if you want a visual reference for what this panel technology looks like in motion across different game generations. For the technical architecture behind Penta Tandem, Samsung Display's linked article is the more useful read.
