iOS 27 Developer Beta 2 adds 11 new widgets across Calendar, Home, Apple Music, Apple News, Notes, Photos, Reminders, Shortcuts, Stocks, Apple TV, and Weather. The most significant structural change is a new full-screen widget category, a format that did not exist in previous iOS versions. Interactive widgets, including live checklist toggling in Reminders and accessory controls in Home, are also part of this update.

The full-screen widget format is the detail worth paying attention to. The video's presenter argues it is a direct signal that Apple is building toward a foldable iPhone, where the larger unfolded display would make full-screen widgets functionally useful rather than awkward. The video also covers hidden customization options inside the Photos widget and a widget resizing trick that is not surfaced obviously in the UI.

The video walks through every widget individually with live demos from Beta 2, making it more useful than a changelog. If you want to see how Smart Stacks handle full-screen widgets, how Light Mode differs from Liquid Glass widget styles, or why Apple Music now has three separate widgets, the timestamps give you direct access to each. The foldable iPhone section starts at 10:40.
